. we spoke to a resident who said they wondered what is going on. four gun deaths within the city limits since 9:00 last night. all young men in their late teens or early 20s. two killed on 72nd avenue where we are right now. a residential street. a couple of blocks away from international boulevard. these men were in a green minivan on the street. a van that one of the passengers bought within the past day. at 6:00 as the sun was coming up this morning, someone walked up to the van and there was a confrontation. this person fired multiple shots at them killing them both here on the scene. police tell us they don't have a motive. they are still looking for that suspect. a neighbor of one of the men said the two regularly sat out in a vehicle just to talk. weren't loud. were respectful. from her point of view, seemed to stay out of trouble. >> this is the first time we ever had any kind of disturbances like this. sad. i guess nobody is exempt. it happens over there. it happened behind us. now it is happening here. nobody is exempt in oakland. it could be in any neighborhood. any st

for a little bit. we have tid bits about the floats. they will end up at the steps of city hall which is expected to be a glorious celebration. >> that is where we are. at city hall. that ceremony will begin. before the ceremony, you will see the players and management and coaches coming through on the cars. that is a fun part of the par e parade. it is off camera and off scripted. that will be a lot of fun. >> that is what the fans love. people have been lining the streets since early morning. they want to get a close up look at romo and posey. it is giants gear left and right. they are all wearing it today. >> it is bleeding orange and black. here's the plan for the next 30 to 60 minutes, all the cars will start at the foot of market street. we showed you the map at stewart street. they will come out in convertibles and floats and the whole nine yards here. you see the crowd here. so many people showed up last night staking their place on market street. about 1 million people are here in downtown san francisco on this halloween which is traditionally such a big day here in san fran

. >>> another day of record heat around the bay. that is oakland there. we will tell you which east bay city is poised to be hotter than even miami. the news at 11:00 starts now. >>> good morning. thanks for being with us. i'm marla tellez. >> i'm jon kelley. today, opening statements are being heard in the trial of giselle esteban. she is accused of killing michelle le. we have christie smith live at the courthouse with the latest on the trial of giselle esteban. >> reporter: the prosecutor opened with a photo of a smiling michelle le. he showed another photo of what is believed to be her last photo. her walking out of a parking lot and near where she was working. this right before she disappeared. her family packed the courtroom. they did not speak, but wore buttons of the 26-year-old on them. le disappeared in may of 2011 where she was studying nursing. her body found four months later. a former friend of hers, esteban killed her because she had feeling for her boyfriend. i guess we're having problems with that awed oudio. later, he developed a serious relationship with esteban. later, th

were not wearing life jackets. >>> demanding justice. protesters taking over the city council meeting in oakland last night demanding more information on a deadly police shooting that happened five months ago. the family and about 75 supporters of 18-year-old alan bluford packed the chambers for two hours. the family was given a copy of the police report. something they have been asking the police for since the shooting happened. bluford was shot and killed back in may after police say he tried to run away. police said he was killed in an exchange of gunfire that injured the police officer. they later changed the story and the gun believed to be bluford's believed to be recovered from the scene was not. the district attorney and oakland police are still investigating the shooting. >>> the protest comes as a federal report comes to light accusing oakland police of being too quick to pull the trigger. a court-appointed monitor says officers sometimes shoot at suspects even though they may not face immediate danger. the monitor says officers may be quote, hypersensitive to the dangers of

along. i'm jon kelley. marla tellez has the day off. we begin this morning with san francisco city leaders all fed up with a south bay tech company and the private bus service for people who live in the city. they say traffic caused by the big cruisers needs to be and must be regulated. nbc bay area's christie smith is in san francisco with more on the brewing battle there. good morning, christie. >> reporter: good morning, jon. on the one hand, the shuttles are getting people to work and getting cars off the road and getting people to their jobs. on the other hand, a lot of people in san francisco think these shuttle buses that just keep popping up need a little bit more regulations when they are riding on the streets of san francisco. particularly during commute hours. they see some of them blocking bus stops and causing traffic conditions at the height of the morning commute. supervisor john avalos asked for a permit system for shuttle operators. they would have to pay to use muni bus stops or other curb for pick ups and drop offs. san francisco workers use these buss to get to

the aclu, they're having a news conference here at the steps of city hall in oakland. they're here to denounce the idea. civil libertarians argue sheriff needs to obtain a warrant every time he uses a drone. they argue the drones should not be used by the sheriff for random mass surveillance. the sheriff says he needs the drones for infrared surveillance. the drones would cost between $50,000 and $100,000. and they could also help in detecting illegal pot brews inside someone's home. the military uses similar technology to go after al qaeda and other terrorist groups. the local drones would be smaller and would not carry weapons. someone would control the unmanned drones remotely from the ground. again, the news conference just getting under way. they're urging the sheriff to not go forward with this idea of bringing drones into the skies of alameda county. >> with those potential drones up in the sky, the streets could soon be patrolled with outside help. city leaders considering a plan to hire sheriff's deputies and chp officers because of high attrition rates. council members sa
